Courtesy of grant funding awarded by the New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, the Westchester County Police Department and Parkway patrol will begin enforcement details on the Hutchinson River, Saw Mill River, Bronx River and Cross County parkways.

The enforcement started on Thursday and will be in effect for the next 12 weeks throughout the county. According to police, the enforcement will target times and locations where officers have seen an increase in motor vehicle crashes.

“So don’t speed, obey all traffic signs and traffic control devices, and do not text and drive,” police officials stated. “The goal, as always, is to keep our parkways safe and save lives.”
